Creeping white clover for lawns
White clover is not just a plant that decorates lawns or meadows. It is a real natural helper! Clover is very resistant - it is not afraid of trampling, so it is ideal for lawns. When planted in spring, a haircut is not needed in the first season, but if the clover begins to bloom, it is better to cut it. This will help it form a thicker carpet and extend its vegetation.
Sowing: The main condition for germination is good pre-sowing watering of the soil and shallow planting of seeds. On heavy soils, we recommend that the seeds be covered no deeper than 0.5 cm, on light soils - no deeper than 1 cm. You can not cover the seeds with a rake, but lightly sprinkle with a thin layer of sand. For uniform sowing, the seeds can be mixed with sand.
Sowing rate: The recommended sowing rate of white clover for lawns is 1.5-2 kg per 1 hundred square meters.
Care: This perennial plant requires special care. When planted in spring, mowing the lawn is not necessary in the first year, but regular watering is necessary. In the second year, clover grows well, filling almost all voids. Its root system strengthens, the plant begins to bloom. The optimal height for mowing is 5 cm. To stimulate re-flowering, you need to mow the lawn when the previous inflorescences begin to lose color and dry out.
