Buckwheat, the fastest-growing biomass cover crop, is a record holder. It is not afraid of drought and does not dry out the soil. Buckwheat is often planted in the circles around fruit trees and bushes. It leaves behind the least amount of substances that inhibit the development of subsequent crops compared to other cover crops. Buckwheat as a cover crop is recommended for use on poor, acidic, and heavy soils. By enriching the soil with phosphates and potassium, it suppresses perennial weeds, especially couch grass. It is recommended to sow buckwheat in late spring, in May, as it is heat-loving. The green mass should be mowed before flowering begins.
